Urban transformation is the process of demolishing buildings that have completed their economic lifespan or are vulnerable to earthquakes and replacing them with safe buildings that meet modern engineering standards. This process does not only mean the renovation of individual buildings; it also includes the modernization of landscaping, parking areas, and social facilities. In countries like Turkey, located in an earthquake zone, urban transformation is vital to minimize the devastating effects of potential natural disasters. For the process to legally begin, a risk assessment report must first be obtained from ministry-approved organizations. After the report, an agreement is reached with a reliable construction company based on a decision made by the legal majority of the property owners.
