EARTHQUAKE REGULATIONS AND SAFETY STANDARDS FOR NEW GENERATION BUILDINGS

The Turkish Earthquake Regulations, updated in recent years, have raised safety standards in the construction sector to the highest level. All new generation buildings must be constructed with very strict controls and engineering calculations, from the soil structure to the quality of concrete used. Buildings constructed in accordance with these rules are designed with the flexibility to absorb the energy of earthquake waves and prevent collapse. The foundation of a safe building is built on correctly prepared soil survey reports, and the most suitable foundation type (raft foundation, etc.) is selected according to these reports. Furthermore, the use of high-strength ready-mixed concrete of C30 and above, and ribbed rebar in constructions, directly increases the lifespan and strength of buildings.
